Why BHANGEELAAR! The Campaign “against an elected mayor in Tower Hamlets” is asking Andrew Gilligan to answer these questions about his 'investigation' into 'Tower Hamlets' - Updater 1
CONTEXT:
We are updating our questioning of the London Daily Telegraph’s Andrew Gilligan as based on his continued refusal and or failure to report on the decision by the UK Labour Party NEC NOT TO INVESTIGATE the alleged allegations as allegedly made to Labour Party NEC by a member of the Tower Hamlets Council acting as a member of the Labour Party.
That person is currently the leader of the Labour Group on the Council. His name is Abbas Uddin ‘Helal’ [recently ‘changed’ to ‘Helal’ Abbas or ‘Helal’ Uddin Abbas].
In his alleged dossier - a copy of which has been unexpectedly shown to this campaign by a source - Abbas Uddin ‘Helal’ is shown to have suggested, implied and or asserted that fraud and or irregularities and breaches of the electoral laws and rules had been committed by another member of the same Party at the time under reference and that specific offences and breaches were done to wrongfully influence the outcome of a petition calling for a referendum on the alteration of the constitution of the Tower Hamlets Borough Council and that those breaches etc were also in contravention of the Labour Party’s own guidelines.
It follows that BHANGEELAAR! The CAMPAIGN AGAINST AN ELECTED MAYOR IN TOWER HAMLETS are logically, evidentially and democratically interested in this particular representation and or claim and or assertion.
That at law we have perfect locus standi.
If true then the dossier allegations about electoral and referendum fraud and breaches vindicate what we have said all along to “Dr” Kevan Collins, [the Tower Hamlets Town Clerk who has been in post as the over-gloried ‘Chief Executive’ who is then allowed to ‘act’ as the ‘Returning Officer’ EX OFFICIO over elections and electoral activities such as referenda in Tower Hamlets] especially since he made that declaration to the effect that referendum about bringing about a change in the Council’s constitution was duly held dated 6 May 2010.
We have challenged “Dr” Kevan Collins on that untrue assertion and shall continue to challenge him on it because we know he made an untrue assertion on that occasion and in that matter and on the facts. It is THAT ASSERTION [that a referendum was duly held…] that has ‘enabled’ the same person, “Dr” Kevin Collins to move to the next stage of that undemocratic, unconstitutional and legally questionable and flawed agenda, that of holding the election of an executive mayor’ in Tower Hamlets. Our contention is that all of that is wrong. And we rely as a key item of evidence in support of our legal, constitutional democratic contention on the contents concerned of that dossier as claimed by Abbas Uddin ‘Helal’ who has confirmed that he did lodge it with the NEC of the UK Labour Party.
In this context we have studied the behaviour of one journalist in particular. His name is Andrew Gilligan. We have found that in blog after blog that he has published on the London Daily Telegraph during the past seven months [March to September 2010 inclusive], he has DIVERTED attention away from the serious irregularities, fraud and even corruption that have been taking place WITHIN the Tower Hamlets Labour Party.
He has also been in denial of the fact that CORRUPTION, fiddling, fraud and irregularities are and have been COMMON to ALL the ‘main Political parties’ in Tower Hamlets for more than THIRTY YEARS.
