BREAKING NEWS! "Labour Party mayor candidate official spokesman says elected mayor thing is a step backward, undemocratic”!!!
This admission by Doros Ullah came just over two hour ago in London.
Ullah was speaking as the de facto official representative of the ‘Labour Party’ and on behalf of the candidature of Abbas Uddin ‘Helal’ when Aminur Khan, speaking for Lutfur Rahman’s candidature pointed out that Abbas Uddin ‘Helal’ had in fact opposed the directly elected mayor thing.
Doros Ullah replied by saying that even he had been opposed to the change to a directly elected mayor system.
“Yes I was one of those who believed and I still believe that directly elected mayor is not the formula for the resident [sic]"
He hastened to add that as a democrat he had to abide by the verdict of the electors [at the referendum dated 6 May 2010].
“Despite my own feelings we respected that [referendum verdict”]
BHANGEELAAR! Will comment on this in due course.”
