AADHIKAR Online publishing yet another world exclusive report below about the many things that the careerists among the current numbers of Tower Hamlets councillors are doing to mislead the people.
The significance of our saying that this is an exclusive report may not be obvious at first. The reason being that we are in fact citing material from a web site that is active. And so it may appear to mechanically minded persons that the citing of any material that is available online cannot be an exclusive. They wound be wrong.
What is exclusive in this publishing is not the material we are citing.
What is exclusive is the time at which we are doing so and the context in which we are putting that information here.
The same applies also to the questions that we are raising here. These questions are being exclusively raised here. Although to genuine democratic observers – and to any genuine activists motivated by true democratic spirits as opposed to a petty personal careerist opportunity – many of the thoughts that we are sharing here should have occurred by now. Yet we have not seen or heard any of this coming from anyone else.
Having said the above, we shall be most interested to find truthful evidence of anyone else having made the same observations or raised the same questions before we have done so.
AADHIKAROnline is a round the clock democratic publishing effort. As part of our continuing fact checking, we came across on Tuesday 28 September 2010 one member of a small team based in Tower Hamlets. That team has been seen in the vicinity of one of the two ‘camps’ currently featured as the two sides in the so-called battle over the so-called elected mayor thing in Tower Hamlets.
We note that fact here for the evidential record. The small team claimed to us that they had not come across this site and that they had not seen or heard anything that we had been publishing.
It is an astonishing claim.
We know for a fact that we are one of the very first sites that are checked by all who then claim to know about the East End,
We know for a fact that the network of operatives that is currently destabilising the community in Tower Hamlets heads straight for our site and for our associated campaign web sites and micro blogging outlets.
We also know that they have other ways of monitoring what we are publishing.
And they are otherwise following our activities too...
That is their job, as it were and we do not propose to dwell on what they do there as long as they observe and respect the rules of legality, constitutionality and humanity in doing their undemocratic work!
So that small team ought to be careful what it asserts.
After all, we are engaged in the efforts primarily and most importantly about the evidence. Evidence to tell the truth and to defeat the lies. Those include all forms of lies.

NO TO DIRECTLY ELECTED MAYOR IN TOWER HAMLETS
Home
On May 6th 2010, as well as the usual Council Elections, and possibly a General Election, there will be a referendum asking Tower Hamlets Residents to vote on whether Tower Hamlets Council should have a directly elected Mayor or not.
We are an all party group of local residents who have come together to campaign against the proposal for a directly elected Mayor because:
1. A directly elected Mayor will marginalise your democratically elected councillors.
2. A directly elected Mayor would damage the representative nature of our council – only one view would matter.
3. Scrutiny of decision-making would be weakened with the public and councillors powerless to hold the directly elected Mayor to account.
4. A directly elected Mayor can appoint non-elected advisors who would not be accountable to local people.
5. There is no provision to remove an incompetent directly elected Mayor.
