BHANGEELAAR! The campaign against a directly elected mayor in Tower Hamlets publishes the texts of the relevant communications as put to Tower Hamlets Council’s town clerk Kevan Collins in his ex officio 'capacity' to serve as the ‘Returning Officer’.
We put it to him in the initial communications [addressed to the staff that is ordinarily there to serve the Tower Hamlets public as the employees in the Borough Council via Kevan Collins’ offices] that we had a number of questions concerning the conduct of the ‘referendum’ and that we wanted him to answer those as soon as possible.
It was stated to us that he [Kevan Collins] would address the matter if we sent them to the offices in rioting.
We say offices to mean a number of persons who work to the ‘chief executive’.
We shall in later parts of this report come to the further relevance of the distinctions between ‘office’, ‘offices’, ‘staff’ and other terms used.
And we shall examine the evidence of the role of a number of over-hyped ‘officers’ [=employees who are for strange ‘reasons’ given more money and more powers than they [these individuals placed in the paid positions in Tower Hamlets Council] deserve on the evidence of their behaviour, including Isabella Freeman and an often-stooged official in the most misleadingly called unit: ‘Democratic Services’!
As readers of AADHIKARonline would have been familiar, the word “democratic” when used to denote anything done by Tower Hamlets Council leaves out most of the substance of what would be ordinarily understood as being democratic.
And so it proved on this occasion when the BHANGEELAAR! Campaign made representations to the “Returning Officer” about the conduct and the legitimacy of the “referendum” about “an elected mayor”, as dated 06 May 12010.
Once we have published the latest summary of all key facts, it will become clear why the elected mayor thing will only make matters worse, not better.
The people of Tower Hamlets deserve better than what appears set to be imposed on us: a worse regime under an even more dictatorial, corrupting cabal disguised as the ‘mayor’s team’ than we have been used to in Tower Hamlets in the past years!
And by ‘the past years’ we literally refer back to the undemocratic unaccountable, anti-social and in a number of cases openly blatantly sleaze-ball roles and behaviour of the succession of ‘leaders’ of Tower Hamlets Council in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s….
