BHANGEELAAR! THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST AN ELECTED MAYOR IN TOWER HAMLETS
Telling the "East London Advertiser" to say precisely whether they are alleging that Lutfur Rahman had actually been involved in vote rigging. This follows two days of silence from all others. So BHANGEELAAR! decided to post the following evidential and legal comment on the "East London Advertiser" web site this afternoon.
You [The "East London Advertiser", in their online item "Livingstone lobbies for Rahman’s return to Labour"] say:
“Mr Rahman was suspended as the Labour party’s mayoral candidate in September after fears were raised of vote rigging and around his conduct.”
What event or events are you referring to when you say, “fears were raised of vote rigging and around his conduct”? Are you saying that Lutfur Rahman was actually involved in vote rigging? If you are doing that then you should also say what action [if any and if so when] has been taken about it by the authorities in paid posts for upholding electoral laws in the UK. If no action were taken then what relevant authority would have confirmed that to you and under what dispensation from the obligation to observe the laws? These are some of the very important questions that have arisen at all the stages of the promotion of an elected mayor entity in Tower Hamlets. Just so that the focus is not taken off from the grassroots, your own print edition this week carries a letter from Belle Harris who now echoes the concerns that we have had from the start about the elected mayor thing. This is why we are demanding that all concerned act to get the truth out about why the referendum dated 6 May 2010 had been allowed to be held when the vast majority of the voters were either not informed properly or were misled about the implications in Tower Hamlets of the change to the constitution of the local Council.

KEN Livingstone announced today he is urging Ed Miliband to allow new Tower Hamlets mayor Lutfur Rahman back into the Labour party.
The Labour London mayoral candidate said the decision could be based on how well Mr Rahman fares in the coming weeks and months running the borough as its first directly elected mayor.
He told reporters: “I’ve talked to Ed Miliband and the general secretary of the Labour party about this.
“I’ve been discussing this with virtually everyone in the party. The general consensus is that there is a lot to be said for letting this all calm down and seeing how Lutfur performs.”
Mr Rahman was suspended as the Labour party’s mayoral candidate in September after fears were raised of vote rigging and around his conduct.
He chose to stand as an Independent and won the October 21st election with more than double the votes of his nearest rival, Labour’s replacement Helal Abbas.
Mr Livingstone came under fire from Labour members after joining Mr Rahman on the campaign trial, despite Labour insisting anyone seen canvassing for a rival candidate would be suspended.
It is thought that Mr Livingstone may bid for his former colleague to be reinstated at Labour’s National Executive Committee meeting on November 30.
