BHANGEELAAR! Published on the web site of the “East London Advertiser” [in a diagnostic comment on their news item about 500 jobs to be cut by Tower Hamlets Council. “Our campaign against an elected executive mayor in Tower Hamlets notes the part of your report in which you mention Peter Golds as follows:
We quote Conservative leader on the council Peter Golds: “I find it absolutely ridiculous that at a time staff are hearing this job adverts are going out for the head of the mayor’s office at between £57,000 and £59,000.”
Unquote
Given that he is reported as expressing that view, will Peter Golds now join the democratising campaign to have the overdue investigation into the role the town Clerk [‘chief executive’] has been allowed to play in fixing things that ought to be conducted in public and by the elected councillors? Will Peter Golds also show the community in Tower Hamlets the full facts of what he has been spending his councillor time on? Why won’t he issue statements in Tower Hamlets condemning the CONDEM assaults of destruction on the already low standard service operations controlled by ‘Tower Hamlets Council’? Will Peter Golds join us in demanding that the ‘chief executive’ publish reports to the Borough showing what deals he is currently negotiating? And in backing our call that “Dr” Kevan Collins publish the full facts about his role in the promotion of the ‘referendum’ on the undermining of the already fragile democratic structure of Tower Hamlets Council? There are hundreds of unanswered questions that actually concern the mythology that Kevan Collins has been being allowed to create to justify HIS programme of cuts while the likes of Jim Fitzpatrick blame ONLY the CONDEM. Why did neither Peter Golds nor Jim Fitzpatrick make any comments about Kevan Collins’ assertion on his ‘famous’ ‘Undercover Boss’ programme [shown on Channel 4] MONTHS ago that he was in effect positively working to make cuts in Tower Hamlets worth £Millions? 2100 Hrs Thursday 25 November 2010 BHANGEELAAR!
